Anthem Performance MRX 510 A/V Receiver

When I tried Anthem’s Performance MRX 500 A/V receiver, I was wowed by the built-in Anthem Room Correction system, and called that model a true bargain among home-theater receivers. The Performance MRX 510 ups the performance of ARC to provide unprecedented control and feedback for room correction, and raises the bar for home-theater receivers... If you value sound quality and like to take some control over your speakers, as I do, I highly recommend the Anthem MRX 510.

Anthem MRX 510 7.1 A/V Receiver Review

Everything in the MRX 510 is well designed and executed. The setup and menu system are easy to navigate, using ARC is quick and painless, and the amplifier never ran out of power when I pushed it. People look for different things in a receiver. If what you are looking for is sound quality then you should look at the MRX 510 as Anthem has put that front and center.

Anthem MRX 510 review

Some will look at the spec sheet and decide the Anthem isn’t for them, and that’s fair enough. In many ways, it struggles to better the feature sets of most budget amplifiers, let alone those closer to its price. Yet, judge an amplifier on sound performance alone and it becomes clear that this is one of the standout products below the two grand mark. A home cinema amplifier that can keep music lovers happy too – that is a rare thing indeed.”

Stellar Sound Award

Home Theater Receiver Review! Anthem MRX 510 7.1 Dishes Out Delicious Sound, Features and Value

While easily fitting into the mid-priced receiver category, Anthem’s MRX 510 delivers the goods better than units costing at least a thousand dollars more. The included-ARC package provides an easy yet effective way to configure a listening space, and the unit can easily power typical surround speaker setups — without any audible signs of strain. The resulting sound is smooth and natural with a clean defined bottom end and pristine, high-frequency shimmer. Sonically, and feature wise, Anthem’s MRX 510 is a lot of receiver for the money. Definitely worthy of the Everything Audio Network Stellar Sound Award.

Anthem MRX 510 AV Receiver

The Anthem MRX 510 AV receiver does not offer an extensive list of features like some of the other AV receivers out there today. Instead what it offers is a musical soul that is unlike any other, which can give you goose bumps while listening to music and total immersion when watching movies. When researching AV receivers, do yourself a great favour, and make sure to listen to one of these new Anthem MRX models. Once you discover their sound performance, you'll almost certainly want to bring one home.

REVIEW: Anthem MRX 510 AV receiver

“This is an intriguing product, not just due to the flexibility of that room correction system, but because it eschews the usual AV receiver ‘bells and whistles’ trend and concentrates on providing the features more buyers will use, plus a captivating sound. It may not come from one of the first names many will consider when looking at products of this kind, but if you take your music as seriously as you do your video-based entertainment, it’s worth seeking out and auditioning. You may just find yourself as taken with it as I did in that crowded Bristol demonstration room.”

There's No Place Like Home - Anthem MRX 510 A/V Receiver and Paradigm Monitor 7 Home-Theater Speaker

While $5,000 is certainly not chump change, in the world of hi-fi that investment often only gets you one stereo component. Alternately, that same money can provide a complete home-theater setup that offers great quality, performance, and value... For those seeking a single home audio/video solution, this Anthem/Paradigm combo gets you the best of both worlds: a solid two-channel setup and a 5.1 surround- sound system—just add audio and video sources. Plus, with unobtrusive looks and the ability to hide the subwoofer, you’ll forget the system is even in the room so you can get lost in the depths of a movie.

The lean, mean cinema machine

Overall, it’s impossible not to recommend the MRX 510 enough. For an AVR, sonic performance is of paramount importance, and the Anthem's full-bodied, tight and atmospheric aural delivery makes it an imperative purchase.

What's New - Going Beyond two channel...

Well, you can’t always sit in the dark and listen to Patricia Barber, can you? If the answer is no, and you love to watch movies and more, the Anthem MRX 510 is the answer. With seven 100 watt channels of power and Anthems ARC room correction, it’s never been easier. Review in process, but we’ll spill the beans, we love this thing!
